The Next Generation Information Portal: A One-Stop Information Shopping Experience
The ability to find the right information is an eternal problem. IBM is leveraging metadata and taxonomy to improve searching within a single interface for filtering the four million web pages and one million DITA topics that we publish to customers.
All too often we spend too much time searching for content and evaluating search results, or even just filtering the information we find for our specific needs and context.
If we are looking for product documentation, we might find it, but does it suit our needs? We often want things like deployment scenarios or best practices information. If it is not there, staff often end up manually creating new custom documents, and customers are left frustrated.
Sophie has classified a library of 37,000 DITA topics and will discuss her experiences with taxonomy and the information portal.
